Install and trial

Upload the zip (shop currently serves 1.12.2) and activate.
Open OrderBay in the admin menu.

Basic invoices stay available even after the Pro trial ends. Packing slips, branded PDFs, bulk actions, and the fulfilment desk need the 30-day trial or a key. The 30-day window starts on the first normal WordPress request after activation.

Business details

Enter business name, address, and tax id in OrderBay document settings. Those values print on invoices. This is not tax advice. Confirm wording with your accountant.

Invoice numbers

Prefix — default style INV-.
Format — typically {PREFIX}{SEQ}.
Reset — none / period. Sequential once configured. Changing format mid-year can create gaps; that is expected.
Credit notes have their own prefix/format (e.g. CN-).

Numbers are stored on the order and are not regenerated on each view. SQLite and MySQL are both supported; do not hand-edit those options while orders are in flight.

Issue an invoice

Open a paid WooCommerce order.
Use OrderBay’s invoice action (order screen / documents).
Download or print. Customers can see invoices in My Account when that endpoint is enabled.

E-invoice export (UBL / CII)

OrderBay can export EN16931-baseline XML: UBL 2.1 (Peppol BIS Billing 3.0) and CII (Factur-X). That is file export only — no Peppol network, no PDP delivery. Factur-X PDF/A-3 needs a PDF engine plus the horstoeko/zugferd library when you want that package. Validate output with an official validator. Confirm obligations with your accountant.

Pro documents and desk

Without a trial or key, packing slips / delivery notes / labels return a 402-style stop: basic invoices remain; activate a key for the rest. Pro adds packing slips, branded PDFs, bulk actions, VAT fields, export, tracking, item-level RMA, SLA aging, staff digests, barcodes, and QR. The fulfilment desk is for pick / pack / ship — not a replacement for your carrier account.

Troubleshooting

Missing tax line on the PDF

Fill business/tax fields in OrderBay settings, then open the invoice again (the stored number does not change).

Duplicate numbers on SQLite

1.11.1 includes the SQLite invoice-number fix. Do not run 1.11.0 on SQLite.

Packing slip blocked

Expected without trial/key. Confirm the install is still inside its 30-day window or activate a license. Invoices still work.
