30-day built-in window, then a license
The Pro code includes a 30-day unlicensed runtime window, but the public Pro zip currently arrives only after paid checkout. After that, sending needs an active license; if yours lapses, your settings are kept and sending resumes the moment you renew. Free OrderRing Lite keeps basic pickup SMS available with no key at all.
Lite vs Pro, by channel
Pickup SMS is free in OrderRing Lite (a separate plugin). In the Pro zip, all sending — including SMS — needs the 30-day window, an active key, or grace. Twilio bills usage either way.

Checked against OrderRing Pro 1.25.5 and OrderRing Lite 1.0.7. WhatsApp requires WhatsApp enabled on your Twilio account. A new US sender may wait on A2P 10DLC or toll-free verification; that clock is Twilio’s, not the plugin trial.

Questions
How do I connect Twilio?
Add your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token and a sending number in the OrderRing settings. Messages then send through your own account.
Does Tillpress charge per message?
No. There is zero markup. You pay Twilio directly for what you send; OrderRing never takes a per-message cut.
What about A2P 10DLC?
You register your brand and campaign in the Twilio Console, or verify a toll-free number. OrderRing does not resell messaging, so registration is between you and Twilio.
What happens if my license expires?
Pro features pause after the license and grace window. Your data and settings stay intact on your server:
- OrderRing Lite pickup SMS keeps running. No key.
- OrderBay basic invoices keep running. No key.
- Pro features pause after the license and grace window: OrderRing sending (SMS, voice, WhatsApp, chat, auto-notify), StoreCanvas live mockup and print export, OrderBay packing slips, branded PDFs, bulk actions, and the fulfilment desk. Settings are preserved. Renewing resumes them.
Can I try Pro without a card?
Lite is a free download with no card. There is no separate free Pro zip. After you buy a one-year license or a $9 one-month license, the installed Pro code includes a 30-day unlicensed window. Twilio still bills messages.
Is two-way chat in Lite?
No. Lite sends pickup SMS with consent and STOP/HELP/START. Replies attached to the WooCommerce order, voice, and WhatsApp are Pro.
How setup works
Connect an already-approved Twilio sender in minutes. New US senders may need A2P 10DLC registration or a verified toll-free number before live messaging (Twilio’s campaign review is often 10–15 days). The built-in plugin window does not make Twilio free, and it does not wait for sender approval:
- Install and activate. Upload the plugin zip in WP Admin, then open OrderRing.
- Connect Twilio. Copy your Account SID and Auth Token from the Twilio Console, paste them into settings, and choose your sending number.
- Pick your triggers. Map order statuses like Ready for Pickup or Shipped to messages. Consent capture on checkout and STOP/HELP/START handling are on by default.
- Send a test. Text your own phone from the settings screen to confirm delivery before a customer ever does.
- If you need replies (Pro). Paste the Incoming SMS webhook URL from OrderRing into Twilio Console → your number → Messaging → A message comes in (HTTP POST). Without that, pickup SMS still sends; replies will not land in the order.
Texting US mobiles? Register your brand and campaign for A2P 10DLC in the Twilio Console first, or verify a toll-free number. OrderRing does not file 10DLC for you. Full walkthrough in the OrderRing docs.
