Short version: OrderRing connects to your own Twilio account and charges nothing on top. You pay Twilio for what you send, and that is the whole bill.
Most SMS plugins quietly resell your texts
A lot of WooCommerce messaging plugins bundle the texting for you. That sounds convenient until you look at the price per message. You are usually paying the plugin maker, who is paying the carrier, and taking a margin in between. The more you send, the more that margin costs you, and you never see the underlying rate.
OrderRing does the opposite
OrderRing does not sell you messages. You open your own Twilio account, connect it to OrderRing, and every text, call, or WhatsApp message is billed by Twilio at Twilio’s published rate. Tillpress does not add a per-message fee, and we never touch the messages themselves.
That has three effects worth spelling out:
- You see the real price. Twilio publishes its rates. What you pay is what it costs, with nothing hidden in the middle.
- Your data stays yours. Messages go from your site to your Twilio account. OrderRing does not phone home with your orders or customers.
- Your license is for updates, not access. If your OrderRing license lapses, your messaging keeps working. Only premium updates pause until you renew.
What you pay Tillpress, and what you pay Twilio
You pay Tillpress once a year for OrderRing Pro ($69/yr), which unlocks voice, WhatsApp, templates, two-way chat, and analytics. You pay Twilio separately, and only for what you actually send. If you only need pickup texts, OrderRing Lite is free forever and still uses your own Twilio account.
One honest caveat: US A2P 10DLC
If you text US mobile numbers, US carriers require you to register your brand and campaign (A2P 10DLC) in the Twilio Console, or verify a toll-free number. OrderRing does not file that for you and does not resell messaging to get around it. It is a one-time setup with Twilio, and our docs walk you through it.
That is the whole idea behind Tillpress: build the plugin, connect it to the service you already pay for, and stay out of the middle of your money. See what OrderRing does or start free with Lite.
